Tournament information

The tournament is arranged by Waasan WetoWoima, the ultimate frisbee club at the University of Vaasa. Waasan WetoWoima (WWW) was founded in 1986. Until the late 90´s, WWW was one of the top teams in Finland winning several Finnish Championships medals and NSUT victories. After that WWW has mainly focused on student tournaments. Together with Vaasa´s local team Vaasa Saints the club arranges NSUT every year.

Venue

NSUT is played at Kauppis, THE VENUE which has hosted many unforgettable tournaments.  The address for Kauppis is Ruutikellarintie 2, 65100 Vaasa and it´s official name is Vamia Hansa-kampus (see Juhlasali 7 in the picture). The entrance to the sport hall is in the back of the building. Also, on Saturday games will be played also at Rolleri, which is located in 5 minutes walking distance from Kauppis at Ruutikellarintie 6. Official name of Rolleri is Urheilukeskus.

Venues expect to be open at 8:00 both mornings but this will be confirmed after the game schedules are published. There are showers and locker rooms on both venues. There is no sauna this year but we always can offer you warm cuddles. Venues are located 2 km from the city centrum.

Food

Tournament fee includes a dinner on Saturday at Rax Pizzabuffet (Kauppapuistikko 13)! You show your tournament pass and then all sorts of food you get from their pizzabuffet, such as pizza (duh!), salads, nachos, meatballs etc, as well as so much soda you can drink. If you want ice cream buffet or other drinks, you can buy them with -10% discount. Team contact person will receive the virtual tournament passes via email before the tournament starts. Rax is reserved for us between 18-21, and to avoid queues we advice the teams to enter either at 18 or 19:30.

  • Teams that start their last game at 17:00 or later should enter at 19:30 

  • All other teams, please enter at 18:00

There will of course be a buffet at Kauppis. You can find food and snacks with reasonable price to satisfy your appetite! Please bring cash with you or have your MobilePay ready. And, we always serve free coffee for those with University of Vaasa student card!
 

Parties

Woop Woop!

In NSUT it’s not just about the games so NSUT weekend starts already on Friday. Therefore remember to plan your journey so that you won’t miss the warm feeling of ultimate-lovers meeting in the excitement for the upcoming weekend. This is one of the favorite parts of the tournament for our frequent visitors.

We will meet on Friday at Tørst at 22:00 (doors open at 21)! Tørst is open until 06 (omg!). There are also discounts with the tournament pass! Tørst is located at Hovioikeudenpuistikko 15.

On Saturday, we will have start the evening at Tørst with the traditional NSUT pub quiz at 21:30 so make sure you´re there on time! Best team will get their reward. After the quiz we can move upstairs to Fontana where it´s time to show those dance moves. Just make sure you enter before 00:30 to get free access with the tournament pass, use the VIP line (wardrobe fee applies). The discounts with the tournament pass are also valid on Saturday.

Note that the daylight saving time ends during the night from Saturday to Sunday, so adjust your clock an hour backwards sometime around 04:00 am.

Accommodation

Newly renovated Sokos Hotel Royal has kindly offered the tournament visitors discount priced rooms. Please note that there is a limited amount of rooms to a discounted price, so if you want to make sure to get a discount, book the room(s) quickly.
